How to make practicing paddleboarding fun for the kids

Children should play on kids’ paddleboards before their first adventure. They shouldn’t fall off while playing and slipping back into the water, but should also be careful not to wipe out onto land as well.

The kids also have a made-up game called “Paddle Battle.” Two competitors face each other on their own paddleboards, about 6 feet apart. When I call out “Three, two, one, Paddle Battle!” the two rock back and forth using their legs in an attempt to knock one another off balance until only one is left standing. It serves as good practice for balance and stability, and they get used to feeling like they will fall off the board but then back on again.

Tip: Parents can make kids paddleboarding more enjoyable by encouraging kids to bring any items they want with them such as water bottles, food containers, or anything else kids like. Kids will be able to attach these things onto the board securely using bungee cord ties so you don’t have to worry about kids losing their snacks while paddling!
