There's just one thing with so many beautiful fishing lures lining all the shelves in every store, how in the world are you supposed to know which ones to buy? Well today, we're gonna take a look at the five must-have fishing lures everybody should have in their tackle box.

Spoons Fishing Lures

The first lures I want to talk about: spoons. People have been fishing with metal spoons basically as long as people have known how to fashion metal, and it's no wonder why. They have a great flash that attracts fish from afar, they wobble or spin as they move through the water, so they have their own built in action. And added bonus, they're metal so toothy fish like blues or kingfish can't bite through them. Extra special tip: On sunny days you want really bright spoons like this and on cloudy days, actually, those with more of a matte finish actually do a little bit better. Extra special bonus fishing tip: When Spanish mackerel are around, nothing beats a small gold spoon. Lure number two is another ancient contender. Come on over here and let's check it out.

Bucktail Fishing Lures

Must-have lure number two a bucktail. Bucktails are very simple lures. They're made with a lead head that has a hook and filaments. These filaments are actually made from the hair of a deer. That's why they're called bucktails. Now, it is true that in this day and age, naturally, you'll also see plenty of them that are tied with artificial filaments. These are rubber and skirts like this are very common. The beauty of a bucktail is you can use it in all kinds of situations. You can jig it you troll it. You can sweeten it with a piece of bait. Whatever you would like.

Topwater Plug Fishing Lures

Must-have lower number - a topwater plug. Now, we have to say right off the bat, topwater plugs are not as versatile and often they're not as effective as the other lures we've talked about so far, but they have a very special attribute. When a fish hits this, it blows up on the surface, makes a huge explosion. It is a jolt of adrenaline and a ton of fun. And for that reason and that reason alone topwater makes our list of top lures. Now, you'll want to use this particularly in the shallows in low-light conditions, say at daybreak and at sunset. That's when it's really going to do its job and boy will you be excited when this thing gets hit.

Soft Plastics Fishing Lures

Must-have lure number four - soft plastics. Now, these are incredibly versatile. There are a million different types. They're one of my favorites, and one of the reasons why I like these so darn much is they allow you to change your offering to the fish almost instantaneously. I can take this tail, pull it right off, (I don't have to untie this jig head from my line or anything) slide a new tail on, and just like that I've changed the color that I'm gonna offer the fish, in a flash. That makes these really useful.

Streamer Fishing Lures

What's number five, our final contender? A streamer. Streamers can be very useful. Fly fisherman obviously love them, and they're highly effective. Now this one right here this was given to me by a close friend and it was tied by the legendary Lefty Cray. So this is a rather special streamer. But generally speaking, you want to rig these on tandem rigs if you're fishing with conventional gear or spinning gear with a heavier, weightier lure at the bottom and the streamer up top. Or of course if you're fly casting, you will just be casting this as is. And I'll tell you what, this catches a lot of fish!

Best branded fishing lures

The market is dominated by some manufacturers such as: Lixada, Vbestlife, Yakima.

Don’t buy cheap fishing lure

If you buy cheap products, you will end up buying twice. There are some very cheap fishing lures on the market, but these are the ones made from poor quality material and components, and they can break down after a few months. Buy more quality model as it will be worth price that you pay.
