What to do if RV exterior lights doesn’t work?
I just bought a brand new 2021 Coachman Catalina 263BHSCK. During PDI inspection, I discovered that the LED light strip would not activate (yes, I had the exterior light switch turned on). There doesn’t appear to be a fuse behind the control panel inside. I checked the connection on the awning’s right side, where the LED light strip connects to DC power via the awning, and it was extremely loose (a small 4-pin connection). The one pin appeared bent so I straightened it and replaced it. When I switched on the exterior lights now, the LED awnings light strip flickers once briefly before shutting off. Any suggestions?
It sounds like you may have a wiring issue. You deninitly need to contact an RV technician for further assistance.
One possible reason for why your LED light strip might not be working is that there may be a blown fuse. If you cannot find a fuse behind the control panel, then it is possible that the fuse is located in another area of the RV. You should check all of the fuses in order to determine if any of them are blown. If they are, then you will need to replace them in order to get your LED light strip working again.
Another thing that you can do to troubleshoot this issue is to check the connection on the awning’s right side where the LED light strip connects to DC power via the awning. If it is loose, then you will need to tighten it or replace it.
